Description of Duties:
The Missile Defense Space Systems Lead Java Software Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Provide software development and maintenance for the MDSC Interchange System (MIS).
Provide software development support to test programs (ground, flight, and experiments) and current operations within the MDSC
Serve as software representative to the Engineering staff and support MDSC Engineering functions as required.
Serve as a member of the team that builds web- based applications to serve both in-house users and external customers.
Responsible for developing designs, supporting design reviews, implementing and testing new capabilities, and conducting unit- and system-level testing and documenting the results.
The successful candidate will:
Be able to work productively and independently in a fast-paced development and operations environment.
Have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal or no supervision
This position will be filled at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is expected to pay $80,400 - $112,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 10 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 4 years of general experience.
Must have at least 6 years of directly related/specialized experience in software engineering
Experience with hybrid (virtual and non-virtual) computing network requirements, design, implementation, and deployment
Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
Must have Linux experience
Must have Java programming experience
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Experience with MDA or DoD customers
Experience with communication networks (DISN, SIPRNet)
Experience working with XML, JMS, application servers, PKI, and MySQL database servers
Knowledgeable on Windows operating systems
Knowledgeable on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7
