Northrop Grumman SWDC I-SIM Systems Engineer 3 in Schriever AFB, Colorado

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mid-level Systems Engineer/Analyst to support the Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim) product line of the MDA/DE Task Order on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) program. This job is located at Schriever AFB, CO .

Responsibilities Include:

  • This position will support the development of modeling and simulation of missile defense systems.

  • The systems engineer will work in a team environment to design, develop, test, document and integrate simulation products for the Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim) organization which is using C++ and/or C# programming languages on Windows operating systems.

  • The primary responsibilities of this position include developing requirements, creating algorithms, testing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performance.

  • Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with BMD I-Sim customers via event support and training events, and presenting technical briefings to BMD I-Sim stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in the same disciplines and 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have a basic understanding of object-oriented software development and Windows platforms.

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Must have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Currently have, or able to obtain, a DoD Secret Clearance prior to the start of work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing tools in MATLAB and/or similar analysis software.

  • Experience in engineering model and simulation systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform.

  • Prior experience in two or more of the following engineering disciplines: requirements analysis, system design, testing, and/or system analysis

  • Prior experience with Ballistic Missile Defense System elements or similar elements that support integrated air and missile defense

  • Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum and/or Kanban.

  • Knowledge/experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development.
