Environmental Techniciansperform basic soil, groundwater, and soil-vapor sampling tasks.Individuals in this position may assist on remediation and sitecharacterization projects by operating direct push technology (DPT) drillrigs. An entry level Environmental Technician will be provided comprehensivetraining to obtain technical knowledge in the basic operation of DPTequipment, limitations of DPT drill rigs, tooling, and sampling systems.Environmental Technicians are expected to participate in Cascade's healthand safety program through active engagement in the recognition,identification, reporting, and mitigation of hazardous situations,conditions, equipment and/or practices.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion such as working outdoorsin extreme temperatures and climates, long periods of standing; walkingover rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching,stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring liftingof moderately heavy items such as drilling equipment, tooling andconsumables materials of the trade (up to 50 pounds).WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work involves potential exposure to hazardous environments that requirespecial safety precautions. For example: working around moving parts,carts, machines, hazardous chemicals, elevated noise levels, etc.Employees are required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) providedby the company including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves,hard-hats, boots, respirators, protective suits, goggles, andshields. Because of the nature of the position, this position may requiresome on-call availability, including weekends and holidays. In addition,overnight travel and split-shift work may be required depending on project andMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalency requiredPossess valid driver's license and maintain clean driving record with noDUIs, excessive or major violationsWilling to obtain commercial driver's license (Class A) within 1 year ofemploymentSubmit to and pass, without restrictions, a pre-placement physical examand drug and alcohol screenPREFERRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCECommercial Driver's License (Class A with tanker, combination, and airbrake endorsements and without manual transmission restriction)Relevant oilfield experience in drilling, hydraulic fracturing, coiledtubing, cementing, or similarLean six sigma, continuous improvement, 5SOSHA 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)certification (provided if needed)Basic mechanical skills with troubleshooting abilitiesDirect Push Technology (DPT) experience including soil and groundwatersamplingCollege graduates with degrees in the geophysical sciences (geology,geophysics, geochemistry), environment, health, and safety(EHS), engineering, chemistry, or the skilled trades (welders,electricians, mechanics, diesel technicians, automotive technicians,field technicians) seeking a career in the environmental remediationindustry aCascade Environmental, LLC, and our subsidiaries is an Equal Opportunityemployer.
