Job SummaryThe MTech Service Department Start Up team performs the initial HVAC andPlumbing systems and equipment "start up" functions for our newConstruction projects installed by MTech. This group of highly skilledtechnicians is part of the MTech Service Department and works with GeneralContractors, Subcontractors, Consultants, Commissioning Agents, andother team members to bring the new HVAC systems to life at the completion ofa project. This position exposes the technician to new technologies,projects, and team members and is critical to the success for MTech.Essential Job FunctionMaintain clear and professional communication with clients, ProjectManagers, APM's, Service Dpt, and other team members.Conducts one's self in a professional manner with verbal communication,personal appearance, and detailed writing skills Make decisions and renderjudgment, commit to decisions and be accountable for ones actionsMonitors systems operation to ensure efficiency and compliance withspecifications using manufacturer's handbooks, MTech procedures and localcodesPerforms start up and commissioning requirements for commercial HVAC systemsranging from 3 ton to large tonnage central plants.Completes service and warranty request calls for MTech projects.Participates in MTech Service Department meetings, processes, on callrotation, and other company policies.Responsible for internal and external client satisfaction with allclients/projects assigned; Interprets drawings and schematics and installsHVAC/R components; Test HVAC/R equipment for proper operationVerifies equipment registrations per local, state and federal codesUses drawings and schematics to analyze and isolate malfunctionsTroubleshoots systems using manufacturer's handbook, MTech procedures andlocal codesMust be familiar with State, Federal and Local codes and hold journeymanlicenses for Denver and/or other local municipalitiesEnsures compliance with environmental regulations of fuels, refrigerants andother hazardous materialsModifies equipment for increased reliability and/or to increase efficiencyRepairs or replaces componentsComplete all required documentation (electronic/paper) including but notlimited to start up reports, Cx reports, warranty claim requests, MTechadministrative requirements, daily service reports, and other job specificdocuMaintains shop tools and equipmentAbility to operate a company vehicle in accordance with the MTech policy andprocedures manualRegular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet therequirements of this positionOther duties as assignedProvides technical education for team members as neededQualificationsHVAC technical school two year degree or certificate or high school diplomawith minimum 5 years relevant commercial experience. City and County ofDenver Mechanical license are valued (Boiler, Gas, Heating andVentilating, Hot Water, Refrigeration).Must be approved to drive per MTech's driving standardsHighly motivated and independent self-starterStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExpertise in all aspects of HVAC serviceAbility to work on call when neededStrong written and oral communication skillsContinued training is requiredMust be flexible and willing to work in both Start Up and Service GroupsAmericans with Disability SpecificationsPhysical DemandThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.
